God Bless America
(and her brave defenders)

Look - there are troops falling from the sky
We see the scenes of their drops so high.
They have gone to fight for us
They hold our hearts and our trust.

Sons and fathers,
Husbands, brothers,
Daughters and mothers,
Friends, lovers.

With such bravery they give their lives
May God bless their husbands and their wives.
They have gone to do what's right
They have gone and joined the fight.

Sons and fathers,
Husbands, brothers,
Daughters and mothers,
Friends, lovers.

Though fear may fill our hearts back home
Fear has no hold where they roam.
We love you all, keep you near
In our prayers, so have no fear.

Sons and fathers,
Husbands, brothers,
Daughters and mothers,
Friends, lovers.

Children sit at home and wait
While mommy goes to battle fate.
They sit with memories that they hold
While daddy fights in Afghan cold.

Sons and fathers,
Husbands, brothers,
Daughters and mothers,
Friends, lovers.

They are there to ensure our freedom
Kill the bad guys – we must beat ‘em.
They risk their lives for our homeland
It’s folks like them that make it grand.

Sons and fathers,
Husbands, brothers,
Daughters and mothers,
Friends, lovers.

We owe them all a great debt of gratitude
For entering that most dangerous latitude.
Many will return, but others will not
The goal will be reached which we sought.

Sons and fathers,
Husbands, brothers,
Daughters and mothers,
Friends, lovers.

Throughout the years it’s been this way
But none quite the same as it is today.
God bless our allies, let’s stand together.
God bless America, now and forever.
